FAQ
Yes. Anyone writing for the public needs editors. Best-selling authors, professors, speakers and small businesses have editors. Even professional editors have editors! It is good to get unbiased suggestions before releasing your work into the world.
That would depend on how well your story is put together and the route you want to take for publication. We can help you determine what you need with our sample edit.
With our contract. We have a section that specifically covers the author so your work is not shared with anyone outside the editors at Global Bookworms.
We do promote your book in our recent projects, your feedback of our services and may use a page or two from your book with our editing notes to show a small sample of our work. If you are not comfortable with any of that, we have a designated space where you can opt out of these business promotions.
The cost of each service is based on the word count of your manuscript. The word count consists of the entire manuscript, including but not limited to:
- Foreword
- Dedication page
- Copyright page
- Table of contents
- Acknowledgements
- Index
- Reference page
- Glossary
- Notes
- Author Bio
- List of Author's previous work
No. We know that hiring a professional editor can get expensive and our passion is helping authors put their best books forward, no matter their budgets, so on a case-by-case basis, we can discuss a payment plan if necessary.
We have our bundled services that offer 15% off or 20% off the typical cost of hiring us for each job individually.
It varies based on the service(s) purchased, the size of the manuscript, and the amount of editing to be done but typical turnaround on our end is between 3 weeks to 4 months. Though editing is a time-consuming process with turnaround times measured in weeks and months, not days, the final product can transform a good novel into a great one.
Some genres we do not know the source material well enough to be able to provide you with our best work. However, our list of accepted genres is not all encompassing, so feel free to contact us to see if we will accept your manuscript.
We accept payments through GPay, CashApp, Venmo, and PayPal.
No. We edit, tweak, polish what you have written, but do not write for you.
Editing your work increases your chances of being accepted for publication, but we cannot guarantee publication of your work. What we can guarantee is getting your manuscript as perfect as you want it, so it'll be harder for anyone to turn you down due to your work not being professionally edited.
We accept Word Doc, Google Doc, PowerPoint, as well as PDFs dependent upon the service we are hired for.
