I love history, and the legend of Tao was interesting and well-written by this author. I appreciate other religions and especially those which pursue inner peace and the avoidance of conflict, something I aspire to achieve in my daily life.
One of the daily principles cited, I practice daily: conservation with regard to our own energy. Some, I can't see as easily attainable in a society which requires hard work in order to live in even modest accommodations. My favorite quote in the book: "Knowing others is intelligence, knowing yourself is true wisdom. Mastering others is strength, mastering yourself is true power." Although my favorite quote, the others presented were equally steeped in wisdom. As I read on, one of the things I didn't expect to see was a meal planning guide. Still, it makes sense that if you are going to work on your spiritual health, you also need to care for your physical and mental health also. Overall, a very well written book with more than a few pearls of wisdom that anyone can appreciate and implement.
