Traveling around the world again!
Breaking down more barriers and continuing to promote respect for the world's diversity, we are introduced to 19 new countries. Discovering unique facts from pre-teens and teens sharing their homelands, culture and what they aspire to become, in letter form.
This is book 3 of 15 in the I Am Proud Series by Barbara Woster. She has published 11 books in this series and the last 4 books having estimated release dates between July and September.
As with the previous books I have read in this series, I loved this book and so did my children. They open it up as quickly as possible when we get it and devour the contents, always excited to meet the new people from each country. One boy we met was 15-year-old Lyam from Gibraltar. We learned his home was a peninsula south of Spain, that is has an extremely unique airport runway and that he hopes to become a pilot himself one day.
We got to meet Daniat from the African country of Eritrea, Derek from Delaware, and Aahana from India. We also met a girl who wants to work on a cruise ship, another who has enrolled in school to become an Oceanographer and a boy who wants to become an audiologist to help his deaf sister.
I have recommended this series to many people including a teacher who now has the first 11 books in her 2nd grade classroom and has pre-ordered the last 4. She's so excited to share these books with her class.
I can't express how much I am loving this series, the amount of information my children have learned from them, and what I have learned along with them.
