Missing Credentials and References
One of the first things I look for when I read this type of book is the author's credentials. Their qualifications for writing on a topic that should be presented by professionals in the field.
There were some sticking points with me
First were the continued contradictions.

I'm not at all religious, nor do I follow religions. I do appreciate different disciplines and like to read up on them occasionally.
...but a well-written compilation which covers old topics in an interesting manner.
