Easy lesson for childrenThis is a simple children’s story explaining how spiders can be helpful and why we should be nice to them. A young boy has to give away his little pet spider, so he drops him off at a zoo. The spider makes itself at home in the animal cages, rather content with all the flies available to eat and the animals are happy because they no longer have flies annoying them. The Keeper of the zoo doesn’t realize how helpful the spider has been to all the animals and only sees all the dirty webs everywhere and immediately starts cleaning up to the dismay of the zoo creatures and spider. Soon after the Keeper of the zoo realizes his mistake.
I liked this short read and the point of the story was easy to figure out, even for a little child. The characters are realistic, the plot is simple and complete and the dialogue, what little there was, is believable for a book of this type. The only reason for 4 stars is I obviously don’t connect with any of the characters, though the story and moral of it are good.
