Shorter Story Than You Think
Even though the ebook is only 46 pages, the last 18 pages are a sneak peak at another of the author's works. So, this is really a short story.
Here's the deal though -- most short stories fall...well, short. It is extremely difficult to write something satisfying to a reader when you don't have sufficient time to build the plot or the characters. That is NOT the case here. This author has done what so many fail to do -- write an amazingly creative, engaging sci-fi thriller that a person (like me) can read within an hour, yet feel as if they've read a novel.
It is exceptionally fast-confusion with unexpected twists, engaging characters, superb plot, and believable dialogue. Zorro, a replicant, (there are lot of movie references in this) keeps asking "Would you like to know the time?" When the reason is revealed at the end, you can't help but be stunned. That's what exceptional writing should do, engage the reader, and this one does it in spades. Bravo!
