I just don't like fiction stories that are obvious in their agendas or preachiness.
The Earth is so horrible it has the overlord of planets, Nohr, weeping over Earth's history. This, of course, was after he was feeling super pleased with the inhabitants of his other charges. He frantically flips through the chronicle of our history, near tears, trying desperately to recall anything good: the Renaissance. Then leaps forward to the great leaders: Gandhi, King, Mandela, and great moments: women's / gay rights, end of segregation.
What gets me every time an author or movie maker slams the inhabitants of this planet is that they always find that one group or one person that gives that small glimmer of hope that all is not lost. Or there has to be a political statement that it has to be a woman who becomes the world's next great hope.
Anyway, it was a well-written book, but just not for me.
