A teen loses his mom, becomes disillusioned with his father and finds solace (of a sort) in a Ancient-Egyptian lore-spouting older waitress.
He attempts to find himself by moving in with this older woman and her ailing, aged father who do no more than cause more disillusionment. Mechanically, it wasn't poorly written but that did not make this boring work worth reading. I felt zero sympathy for any of the characters because there was zero depth to any of them. Just a bunch of whining and/or yawn-inducing pontification over religion, man, humanity, death, etc.
