So Well Written
Sarah wasn't a major character in this novel (I won't give too much away), but the opening chapter was so well written that I felt for her as much as I did for her husband.
To write with such vivid description of a natural disaster either takes incredible imagination or experience.
When Suchin grew sick, I started reading faster. I couldn't imagine this poor man suffering another tragedy after finding someone new (I won't give this part away either). Again, that the mark of a good writer: the ability to evoke emotion in the reader.
This is definitely a tragedy, so only read it if you have a strong constitution. Recommended? Absolutely.
