From the opening line, I knew this was going to be an interesting read.
For the author to hook the reader in one sentence is an exceptional feat: "My name is Liam, and I used to live in a house without windows."
This is not an action-packed read, rather a slow level story with an underlying eeriness that keeps you hooked.
The relationship between Liam and Grandfather, between Liam and Trinity had continual question marks hanging over it for the longest time. Then there was Grandfather's repetitious warning, which became a sort of mantra for Liam.
And we can't forget the stranger, both compelling and sinister, but with the same question marks hanging over him for quite a while: was it just Liam's reaction that made him sinister or was he truly there for nefarious reasons...well, obviously, I had to keep reading to find out. You will too.
