Dark, well-written sci-fi fantasy
Often books I read are lacking in details needed for a fully developed story. Not so with this book.
In fact, the details provided bogged down the story at times causing me to need to re-read, or read slower.
As for the writing, it was extraordinarily well done. I was very impressed. The author did tend toward capitalizations to express anger or yelling, which a writer isn't really supposed to do. It was also oddly done, alternating capital letters with lower case. Scratched my head over that one. The "foreign" language presented was unique; however, even movies provide English subtext. Can the reader make some translation up? Sure. Can the reader possibly surmise the meaning in context. Possibly. Personally, I prefer to know what I'm reading.
The dialogue was exceptional, the plot extraordinary. This is a new writer that has amazing potential.
