What a delightful middle-grade mystery for about age 12.
The writing was wonderfully done. The characters were delightfully well-rounded, the dual plot intriguing. The cadence was steady although it did take a bit to get to the exciting part.
I can see a pre-teen really enjoying this story. It says it's for ages 8-12, but some of the speech may go over the head of an eight-year-old, unless being read to by someone who can really bring the story to life.
There was quite a few characters to follow, but for me I felt this story was centered on Gabrielle and her growth into becoming a true Queen of Concordia.
