I Liked The Way This Was Written
Honest and engaging.
His story reminded me of my dad who was a long-haul trucker until one of those trips to icy-road conditions ended his career. He was helping to unload, slipped on an icy patch, fell face-first onto the pavement and shattered his wrists. It was devastating for him in more ways than one, so tragedy and hardship, I get.
Being orphaned so young could have easily stopped this young man in his tracks, but his perseverance and determination are an inspiration that many young people today could use a dose of -- not the trouble-making part, but the grit.
