Well, there is one new approach I've never seen used before.
Instead of writing this as a self-help directly from the author, the author uses a "character", Charlotte, to offer bite-sized advice for overcoming and succeeding. The problem with this is -- we don't really know anything about "Charlotte", nor really learn anything of value about her to either attribute any of the techniques to her life and/or empathize with her (which I can only surmise was the author's intent in using a character).
Overall, well written, but I would have preferred to hear it from the author's point of view and would have liked something more unique, not the same old stuff from every other author out there.
